The main Christmas market in Spain is held in the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, but it isn´t the only one in the city. It is a large market where you can find traditional products for the festivities, even joke items for the 28th of December, which is the Spanish equivalent of “April Fool´s Day”.
Barcelona has one of the most typical markets, and also it is has the most history. In the middle of Barrio Gótico, in the Plaza de la Catedral, the traditional “Feria de Santa Lucia” is held, and has been since 1786. The stalls of this market are distributed in various sectors. In the green sector you can buy live Christmas trees, moss, decorations and lights. The second sector is for Bethleham figures, where you can find the famous “caganer”, a figure that is never missing from a Catalan nativity. In the next sector you can find hand-made decorations and presents. The fourth sector is for the traditional Christmas instruments, like the “zambombas” (a rustic kind of drum).
In Valencia there will be arts and crafts as well. The crafts association ARTEVAL is organizing the X Feria de Artesania de Navidad, of national character and that will take place in la Plaza de la Reina, next to the cathedral from the 2nd of December to the 8th of January 2013. There, there will be 24 stall with the best handmade products.

The fair, which is already open, it is in the street Fray Ceferino González (between the cathedral and to¡he India archive) until the 23rd of December.
