In the Province of Malaga, on the popular east coast of Spain, lies the highly regarded resort of Fuengirola. The most prominent attraction to reflect the town’s vibrant history is situated just outside Fuengirola, high on the banks of the Fuengirola River. The mouth of the river is the superb location for the 12th Century eight-towered fortress known as the Castle of Sohail. Extensive restoration has recently been completed on the castle and it’s picturesque gardens, which has successfully returned a number of attractive features to their original condition. The castle boasts a wide range of facilities and is open to the public on a daily basis, free of charge.

The town is situated along the beautiful Mediterranean coast, which is arguably, Fuengirola’s most appealing attribute. The coastal side of the town is dominated by eight kilometres of the finest sandy beaches on the Costa del Sol, and a splendid modern promenade that provides a fantastic array of facilities and services.
