The
Canary Island of La Gomera has a diverse array of attractions across
an almost circular area covering 378km². Visitors to La Gomera
enjoy a relaxed tranquil atmosphere on an island that offers a variety
of stunning landscapes filled with lush, exotic vegetation. Among
the most notable areas of significant interest on La Gomera are the
natural park of Majona, the natural monuments of Los Roques, the Ravine

The main tourist areas on La Gomera are Valle Gran

south coast. Valle Gran Rey is a dynamic region that reaches the
Atlantic Ocean at some of the most beautiful beaches on La Gomera:
La Playa, Playa del Inglés, and Playa de Argaga. The small
picturesque fishing village of Playa de Santiago boasts a fine beach
with a comprehensive range of facilities.
In the southwest of La Gomera is the village of Alajeró,
which is the location for the Church of El Salvador del Mundo that
has an exquisite façade and a remarkable 12th century woodcarving
of Christ. Agulo is one of the smallest towns in La Gomera maintaining
a charm that is unique to the island.
La
Gomera occupies a prime position in the Atlantic from which to travel
throughout the Canary Islands on excursions designed for your own
personal requirements. The island is linked by ferry to the ports
of Santa Cruz de La Palma and La Estaca on the island of El Hierro.
The voyage to Santa Cruz de La Palma takes about 3 hours and ferries
leave San Sebastián on a daily basis. The service to La Estaca
is a little less frequent and voyage times are slightly longer, but
well worth the effort as El Hierro is the smallest of the islands
in the archipelago offering unspoilt countryside and the legendary
hospitality of the Herreños.
