two control towers that handle a large number of domestic and international

Madrid’s main airport, which is conveniently located 13 km north east
of the city, almost in the centre of Spain.

extensive connections to Madrid and destinations throughout the Iberian
Peninsular. Cheap local and national bus services regularly depart
from the airport and offer comprehensive coverage of the capital city
and Spain. Also, there is an underground station located in Terminal
2 that provides services to Madrid in approximately 12 minutes, at
a cost of 1.15 euros for a single fare. Taxis are a more expensive
option, but they provide a direct route to any destination and are
available to hire directly outside all three terminal buildings. A
minimum taxi fare in Madrid is 1.55 euros with an automatic charge
of 4.55 euros for journeys to and from the airport.
Train stations are located throughout the capital city operating national RENFE services that cover all Spanish and European destinations. The main train stations are Puerta de Atocha; in the south of the city, Chamartin Station; in the north on Agustin de Foxa and Principe Pio on Paseo del Ray. Trains from Puerta de Atocha are bound for Andalusia, Extremadura, Portugal and Seville, which is the high speed AVE train that covers the distance between Madrid and Seville in two and a half hours. Chamartin Station connects Madrid with France, the regions in the north of Spain and the popular Mediterranean coastal resorts. Principe Pio is the main point of departure for the cities to the northwest of Madrid.
