Menorca has an abundant array of attractive features that are spread across two distinct landscapes. The north of the island is an undulating, rural region with numerous dark sandy beaches, whereas, the more even landscape in the south offers coves of golden sand and smooth limestone cliffs. As the furthest distance between any two points is 47 kilometres, Menorca, is the perfect location to discover a wide diversity of secluded beaches and villages that retain a Mediterranean charm usually inaccessible to visitors in the Balearic Islands.

In the centre of the island is the historic town of Mercadal, which continues to produce the traditional pastries that have been popular on Menorca for centuries. The settlement is located at the foot of the island's highest point, Monte Toro, which is 357 metres high. From the summit of Monte Toro visitor’s can enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the island. The mountaintop is also the awe-inspiring location of a 13th century church that contains outstanding wall paintings alongside stunning architecture. The large majority of beaches are on the southern coastline and they continue to be the main attraction on Menorca due to their abundance and outstanding beauty. South of Mahon lies Punta Prima, a fine sandy beach in a small resort with a comprehensive range of facilities. In nearby Binibeca visitors will discover a small sandy cove with the resorts of Binibeca Vell to the west and Cala Torret to the east. Cales Coves is a small coarse beach down a steep limestone gorge that is speckled with a number of fascinating caves. While west along the coast is Cala en Porter, an established resort with a dynamic atmosphere that is fairly uncommon to Menorca.

Son Bou attracts those seeking space, as it features the longest beach along the coast with fairly basic amenities. Cala Galdana, known as the "Queen of the Calas," is a beautiful pine clad bay in the middle of the south coast. Continuing west the large urban centre of Ciutdella boasts the nearby picturesque pine fringed coves of the twin resorts at Cala Macarella and Macarellata.
