Visitors to Reus, near the north east coast of Spain, discover that the region surrounding the modernist town offers a diverse range of impressive coastal resorts and charming inland villages. This region, known as the Costa Daurada has an abundant array of attractive features and a quality range of services that consistently attract millions of visitors each year.
The regional capital, Tarragona lies to the east of Reus on the Mediterranean coast of the Costa Daurada. South of Tarragona is the beautiful town of Salou that has a landscape filled with sheltered coves, spectacular cliffs, lush pine groves and magnificent golden beaches. The most popular beaches in the district are Playa Poniente, Els Capellans, Playa Larga, Cala Font, Cala Crancs and La Pineda. Further south along the coast are a number of popular resorts that provide a wide range of services, including Cambrils and L'Arnetlla de Mar.
Among the resorts to the north of Reus and Tarragona are Vilanova, Sitges and Barcelona, which is the second largest city in Spain. The fine beaches at Vilanova include Ribes Roges, Sant Gervasi and Playa El Faro, whilst further north in Sitges the beaches of La Ribera, La Barra, La Fragata and La Riera Xica surround the town centre.
Even though the Mediterranean Sea dominates life in this part of Spain there are a number of inland towns and villages that provide visitors with the opportunity to discover the unique culture of the province. To the west of Reus is the Priorat district's capital, Falset and nearby, the stunning town of Miravet boasts an ancient castle located high above the Ebro River.
