Visitors to the province of Valencia enjoy a rich variety of attractions in and around Torrevieja. The town is positioned conveniently in the middle of the east coast and those who choose to leave the sun kissed golden sands will find many of the delights in the region are within easy reach.
• A short distance north of the town is the beach resort of La Mata
where the ancient roman tower and docks, or Embacadero Romano, are

you to the ancient roman towns of Alicante to the north, and Murcia
to the west. North of Alicante and within an hour of Torrevieja
is the coastal jewel of Benidorm.
• The regional capital Valencia is perfect for a weekend break when based in Torrevieja. In contrast to other resorts on this coastline, Spain's third largest city is a welcome escape from the tourist hordes and a great place to explore the colourful art and cultures of the area.
• Torrevieja's location on the Mediterranean ensures visitors have access
to excellent water sports facilities, particularly popular are the
Tabarda cruisers that are equipped with catamarans in which you can
observe the seabed. These leave the marina on a regular basis for
mini excursions to the island of Tabarca and short trips all along
the coast of southern Alicante.
