Seville is a perfect city to visit religous architecturey. It has lots of churches and one of the most beatiful cathedral in Spain and Europe.
The majority of the temples are goodpreserved, although transformed by different restorations in different times, still preserving the religious function for which they were created.
A perfect moment to see these momuments is Holy week, then you will see also the famous processions all around the city, but major in the old town.
You can visit the churches and inside you will find lots of different works of art. Sometimes you can find a museum in the church too. Check the opening time and don ´t forget spanish siesta time, that means that the museums usually closes from 13h to 17h.
Many churches were built between the 16th and 18th centuries; they were fundamentally Renaissance and Baroque. We have to understand that the Baroque Hispanic style is of great beauty and monumentality in buildings such as San Ildefonso or El Salvador reaching a high degree of beauty and deserve a visit. We should also mention the church of Santa Maria La Blanca and the church of San Luis de los Franceses.
