Isla Magica
is the only theme park in the world to be situated in the historical centre
of a city. Opened in 1997, Isla Magica is built on the site of Spain's last
national exhibition, Expo 92, in the gorgeous Southern Spanish city of
Seville. This amazing attraction is one of Andalusia's finest and largest
amusement parks, combining the excitement of a first rate theme park
with the rich colonial history of the region.
The park consists of seven distinct areas that are designed to
represent the most significant themes taken from 16th Century
Spanish history. Exploration of the New World was the most
dominant force in Europe throughout the 1500s, and Seville
in particular played an important part in the success of the
discoverers, such as Christopher Columbus. This diverse
history is reflected in the themes allocated to the areas
within Isla Magica, which are; the Port of the Indies,
complete with merchants, knights and scoundrels;
Quetzal, Fury of the Gods, depicting an ancient
Mayan World; the stunning Gateway to the Americas;
Amazonia; The Pirates Cove; The Fountain of Youth,
which is a paradise for younger visitors; and Eldorado,
with a circus, planetarium and virtual roller
coaster.

Each individual area within Isla Magica boasts a
wide array of world-class rides and a large number of dynamic
attractions centred round a huge, scenic lake. Alongside the roller
coasters, and exhilarating water rides visitors will discover
leisurely boat rides, historically accurate vessels awaiting discovery,
and a comprehensive range of live and multimedia entertainments
that reflect the specific theme of the area. The excellent facilities
provided throughout Isla Magica are also designed to theme, offering
a comprehensive selection of services and refreshments to suit
all budgets and tastes.
Reflecting the system in a number of Mediterranean
theme parks, the year at Isla Magica is split into two seasons each
with a separate ticket pricing structure and set of opening times.
This popular park runs Season A from June 1st to September 12th
and Season B covers the rest of the year, excluding the winter season
during which Isla Magica is closed. The park gates open daily during
Season A from 11am to midnight and at the weekends from 10 am to
9 pm during Season B.

The price of an adult's 1 day ticket during Season
A is €21, for juniors, seniors and adult's with a disability it is €14, and
children and seniors with a disability are charged €11. Ticket prices
during Season B for an adult's 1 day ticket is €19, juniors, seniors
and adults with a disability are charged €13, and children and seniors
with a disability are charged €10. Isla Magica considers juniors to be
children between the ages of 4 and 11, seniors are people of 60 years
and over, and children under the age of 4 years enter the park for
free all year round.
