There is the Cadí-Moixeró Nature Reserve, the Volcanic area of Garrotxa, charming villages such as Santa Pau, Besalú, Beget.
The main railway station in Girona is situated in the city center on Plaça d Espanya, on the west bank of the River Onyar. The station operates the national RENFE trains, offering various daily connections to all major Spanish towns, including Madrid and Barcelona.
