Palma de Majorca Airport

Aeropuerto de Palma de Majorca is an airport located 8km from Palma de Mallorca, nearby the village of Can Pastilla. Known as Aeropuerto de Son Sant Joan, it is the third largest airport in Spain, after Madrid's Barajas Airport and Barcelona Airport. During the summer months it is one of the busiest airports in Europe. The airport increase every year the number of passengers thanks also to the low costs flights that arrives from all over Europe and indirectly from many parts of the world.

The airport consists of four gate areas: Terminal A is mostly used for domestic flights, while Terminals B, C and D are for international traffic. The airport can handle 25 million passengers per year; future plans include an increase of the passenger capacity to 32 million passengers in 2010.

The airport has a vast numbers of stores, restaurants, bars and cafés. There are 18 cafés and snack bars and nine restaurants.In Departures Hall A and C there are large duty free stores that sell cigarettes, perfumes, wines and liquors.

The airport is completely accessible for the disabled. There are adapted elevators, restrooms, telephones and information’s are also available in Braille language.
