Pamplona, placed in the North of Spain and on a plain surrounded by mountains, is the capital city of the Ancient Kingdom of Navarra. Its central position at crossroad in the middle of Navarra province has served as commercial route between different parts of Navarra and has always been an important stopping point for the pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela.
