Visiting the city: Cathedral and city centre
- The Cathedral of Santander "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción" is located in the city centre. The Cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in the Santander, especially worth seeing are its clauster, the tomb of Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo and the crypt of "el Cristo"
- If you want to make some shopping, you might go to "Plaza Porticada" , this is a bussy area where you can do some shopping.
- At the square "Plaza del Generalísimo" you will find the town hall and the modernist building of la Esperanza market.
- The fishing port of Santander and Puerto Chico port is close to the city centre.

- Laredo: it has one of the biggest and most beautiful beaches in the region: La Salvé, an immense stretch of sand of measuring some five kilometres.
- Santillana: is a beautiful medieval town and one of the most important historical areas of Cantabria.
- Santoña: it is the Cantabrian's major canning port. Its industry is based above all on the commercialization of tuna and its famous anchovies in olive oil.
- Suances: a tourist town , with excellent beaches, like that of Los Locos, which is ideal for surfing.
- Comillas: alongside the beach you will find Oyambre Nature Reserve, a large coastal area with dunes, cliffs, marshland .
- Torrelavega:. It is outstanding for its natural surroundings. The Virgen Grande fiestas are celebrated in the town in mid-August, with a unique floral gala and a parade of floats.
