The cave of Altamira is one of the most important artistic places of prehistory.
The paintings on the walls have been there since the Palaeolithic 15.000 years ago, because of that reason it’s considered as a cultural heritage of humanity.

The museum is divided into various areas: The main are is the Neocueva which is a reproduction of the original cave which tries to be as similar as possible. The recreations of the paintings were done by professionals so they are nearly identical to the original ones. A tour though the cave we can discover the habits that the inhabitants had and admire the artwork. In the other area of the museum we can see the art y culture of the gathering hunter of the Palaeolithic y observe various samples.
Other activates you can do is discover the beautiful surroundings of the museum and the cave located on the top of the hill or you could also visit the workshop and do some courses and many more activates which are available at the museum.
