It is a good opportunity to see theatres and musicals, go to a concert, visit museums or just enjoy the countless activities that go on in the capital. To spend the December holidays in Madrid is always a perfect occasion to see the Spanish capital near the Christmas holidays. You can do your Christmas shopping in it’s shops and shopping centres, make the most of the Christmas markets typical for this time of the year to eat delicious Spanish Christmas “Turron” o just drop by the market of San Miguel o the market of San Anton to taste gastronomic delights and and take a trip around the tourist monuments of the city. The best option is to rent a car at Barajas airport or at the train station when you arrive to be able to move around the city as you like.
In December Madrid is already dressed up with its Christmas lights and the city is preparing itself to enjoy Christmas as much as possible. You will be able to do a route to see all the Nativities in Madrid, the entrance is free to all of them except to the one in the National Museum of Decorative arts.
One of the star shows for this holiday is the musical “The sound of Music” in the Arteria Coliseum in the Gran Via. If you prefer to go shopping from the 5th of December there is “Mad Stock”, an event in which a lot of shops participate by providing great offers.
Soon the musical “100 mentiras” by Joaquin Sabina will be over. It will be in the Teatro Rialto until the 13th of January.
And for the little ones. “Imaginarium”, the musical will be in the New theatre Alcaá from the 6th of December until the 3rd of January. “Don Pepito en busca del circo perdido” in the Arteria Coliseum from the 1st of December and “A Beasty Christmas” in the Cofidis theatre from the 2nd of December to the 4th of January.
