Valencia Open500, are you ready?
Tennis is a sport which is played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). The modern game of tennis originated in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century as “lawn tennis”.
Tennis is enjoyed by millions of recreational players and is also a hugely popular worldwide spectator sport, specially the Grand Slam tournament: Australia Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open.
In Spain there isn’t a Grand Slam tournament, but there are a lot of important tournaments. Today we want to present you the Valencia Open500, a tournament which was first played in Valencia in 1995 before moving to Marbella and next to Majorca, and finally in 2003, moved back to its current location.
The Valencia Open500 is an indoor hardcourt tournament, held from 19th to 27th October 2013 at Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. The spectacular Ágora building is a multifunctional space with capacity with 5500 seats.
Also you can enjoy a large open air leisure zone with free entry, the FunPark, in the Ágora‘s surroundings which comprises the shopping street and food zones where all kinds of activities will be carried out.
If you like tennis, you are invited to come Valencia and enjoy with its Open500, where a lot of the better tennis player in the world are joined in this event. If you don’t know how to go, the best way is renting a car in Valencia and park in the carpark at Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències.
