Visit Palma de Mallorca “Majorca”
Palma is Mallorca’s capital. It is exposed to the calm of the sea and the mountains surrounding it. A natural, but mixed, elegance fruit of the imprint left by the different civilizations who inhabited it (Romans, Arabs, Catalans, or Corsairs) Palma is bordered by the sea and also with de areas of Calvià, Puigpunyent, Esporles, Valldemossa, Bunyola, Santa Eugenia, Alagaida and Llucmajor.
Recommended visits:
Palma will surprise you with its innumerable places of interest: the Arab Baths, one of the few Moorish architectural gems still preserved on the island; the Cathedral (La Seu), Miguel Barceló’s ceramic altarpiece specifically designed for the Santísimo Chapel in Palma Cathedral is undoubtedly an excellent work of art. The Bellver Castle, unique in its construction in the round; the Lonja (built between 1426 and 1448), a wonderful example of Catalan Gothic architecture, and the Almudaina Royal Palace and its museum, of Roman origin. Also the Gothic quarter, with its winding narrow streets hiding wonderful patios in manor homes, numbering over sixty in total. The Pilar I Joan Miró Foundation, the Casal Solleric, Es Baluard and the Fundación March are some interesting museums and art galleries which complement Mallorca’s cultural heritage.
